David partners with clients to protect critical intellectual property, navigate regulatory and policy issues, close commercial deals, and resolve disputes. He draws on a deep understanding of company products and services to align legal strategies with business objectives.

Over the course of his career, David has held senior legal and policy roles at many innovative startups and large tech companies including YouTube, Google, Lyft, and Nuro. He helped solve copyright liability and licensing issues in user generated content when lawsuits threatened the industry, shaped the first state laws for self-driving cars, advanced a nationwide legal framework for ridesharing, advanced VTOL electric aircraft, and secured the only federal AV exemptions for autonomous delivery vehicles. His work sits at the intersection of law, technology, and public policy.

David began his career in Cooley Godward’s technology litigation practice after graduating from UC Berkeley School of Law, where he served as Articles Editor of the Berkeley Technology Law Journal and externed for US District Court Judge Charles Legge.
