Jesse Berg is a corporate lawyer with over thirty years of experience advising entrepreneurs, start-ups, privately held companies and investors in the areas of software, e-commerce, new media, gaming and fintech. He focuses his practice on corporate and securities matters, M&A, financings and commercial transactions.
Jesse’s private practice experience includes positions with large, multi-national law firms and boutique partnerships. He served as general counsel of a publicly traded software company, and more recently of Aumni, a fintech and data analytics company acquired by JP Morgan in 2023. He has also co-founded several businesses. This breadth of experience gives him a direct perspective on the challenges facing high-growth companies and the ability to bridge complex legal frameworks with practical business realities. He has represented buyers and sellers in M&A transactions, companies and investors in financing rounds, and advised founders, management, and boards of directors on governance, growth strategies, investor relations, employee relations and dispute resolution.
Jesse also has significant experience in technology transactions, including negotiating license, manufacturing and SaaS agreements. As an investor in multiple operating companies, he brings a pragmatic, business-minded approach to risk assessment and decision-making, grounded in first-hand experience of what matters most to business owners.
Jesse earned his J.D. from UC Berkeley School of Law, where he served on the California Law Review.
